The quest for the left handed Explorer guitar...
|
|
If you happen to be a current owner of a rare left handed Gibson Explorer please click here and help us out by uploading a picture into our photo gallery! Our photo gallery consists of various brands of Explorer shaped guitars.
Gaskell Guitars is a reputable company that makes an Explorer shape guitar in a left handed production model at an affordable price. This company is Australian and is concentrating on left handed guitars only. They produce various colors and also a pro model for a few more dollars. Gaskell Guitars is worth checking out to see what has been provided strictly for the left handed guitar players of the world.
However, until Gibson changes their mind, left handed guitarists can still own a Explorer type guitar available from other guitar manufacturers. Gaskell produces the Gaskell Classic in various colors and SX produces an Explorer style guitar in left handed versions called the GG2 which is available in black and maroon only. UPDATE: I have purchased a Gaskell and done an in-depth review for left handed guitar players who are interested in non-Gibson Explorers. This guitar company could be the answer to your prayers... that is... since Gibson doesn't seem to take left handed guitarists very serious. |

| Message: I have a left hand 2004 Xplorer in copper color. I bought new for my son when he was 13. He had it stolen by some duschbag after a show. I posted an ad on craigslist looking for the same guitar. I got a response from someone telling me about one at a local store in minneapolis. When I called, the man said he sold it the day before to a Japanese buyer from the kurosawa music store in Tokyo. After giving a description of the guitar we both agreed that the guitar was my sons. The store owner got on it and managed to get it back for me at a cost of $570.00. In the mean time I checked out the kurosawa website and it seemed as though they have many explorers.(non left handed currently)They may be a source for someone to find one though. The site is KUROSAWAGAKKI.com . Just thought I'd share this story with you all. It just goes to show you what can happen if you own a morphadite guitar. It had to turn up somewhere. I wish I could have seen his face when he opened the case and saw it was a lefty explorer. |
